Frequently Asked Questions

Q.

What else can I use the Pole Tool for?

A.

There are lots of things this Pole Tool can be used for eg. Air-Conditioners are using the Pole Tool to install their ribbons for their flex’s off the ground.

Q.

What ceiling manufacturer has suspension clips to suit 2.5mm wire?

A.

USG has a suspension clip (CL315). Armstrong have a hook suspension clip (SCPF).

Q.

Do the Grid manufacturers guarantee their grid using 2.5mm wire?

A.

Yes, most do but check with your grid supplier first.

Q.

Because the wire is only 2.5mm and not 5mm like the rod currently being used does this mean that the suspension points have to be closer?

A.

No, they go in at the exact same spacing’s as the 5mm rod.

Q.

What are the approx savings using the Pole Tool with 2.5mm wire in lieu of the 5mm rod?

A.

It works out to be approx $1.00 per suspension point plus labour saved not having to clean the floor area for scissor/scaffold to be used and labour not going up and down in between A/C ducts, sprinkler pipes and anything else that might be suspended in your way. Also the added cost not using a scissor or scaffold to install the hangers.

Q.

Is there a suspension clip to suit the 2.5mm wire that supports a concealed grid system?

A.

There isn’t a clip that connects to the 2.5mm wire and a Top Cross Rail as yet but there are Drywall Grids which have suspension clips that suit the 2.5mm wire and not forgetting that the Pole Tool does install 5mm rod if required.

Q.

What size cordless drill do you recommend to use?

A.

Depending on how many fixings you wish to install at any one time I strongly recommend that you use a minimum 18volt cordless with variable speed and high & low settings.
